New Years Eve

I don’t know about you guys, but I have been waiting for this night to come for the last year! There are so many things I love about this holiday: getting dressed up, going to a great party, and hanging out with your family and friends, what could be better? This year, I am flying down to L.A. with my close friend Giacoma to go visit my best friend Sarah. We are going to this huge house concert called TAO. Our New Years attire is probably going to be much different from all of yours. I wanted to post some great dresses, shoes, and bags you could get last-minute if you still don’t have an outfit picked out. Don’t be afraid to be different, and step out of your comfort zone. This night only comes once a year, so you should take advantage of it! Start the new year in style, okay? I hope you all have a fabulous, fashionable New Years! Be safe, have fun, and take pictures! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to blog for the next few days, but I will be sure to the second I can! Have a great weekend!

Some fabulous party dresses: think sequins and/or form-fitting:

Party shoes are a must! Get a great pair of heels that have an edgy twist to them:

Make sure you get a clutch, so you don’t have to carry a huge bag around:

You know what would go great with your New Years Eve get-up? An amazing piece of costume jewelry! That is why when I found this gold and turquoise bracelet and ring (I am more fond of the bracelet), I knew I had to share it with all of you. This bracelet will really make your whole outfit pop. Turquoise and gold are a great combo and to me, they look very festive together, and that is what the holidays are about! Don’t be afraid to overdo your look. It’s New Years, you have an excuse!

Cirque Du Soleil

My family and I went to go see Cirque Du Soleil in San Francisco, and it was outstanding. This was my second time seeing one of their performances, but let me tell you, I do not remember the show being as intriguing as this one. Everything about it from the music, to the costumes, to the set design, these people really outdid themselves. Of course, one of my favorite parts of the show was the costumes. This year they were so unique. The whole cast was dressed up as different types of bugs, and each “family” had their own set of tricks they could do. I of course had to have my dad buy me a souvenir: 25 Years of Costumes. It is a huge fabulous book, and I can’t wait to read about all of the different years of Cirque Du Soleil’s costumes, and the thinking behind all of them. If you have some extra time, I really am encouraging you to go see this performance, you will be blown away!

Bird Nest

When people think of bird nests, they probably don’t think of pretty images, I mean who would? I am going to change all of your minds now after sharing with you a beautiful jewelry line, Voldis, which has a bird nest feel to their items. I have always been a fan of amber, so when I saw some of the pieces that were a part of this collection, I was very pleased! These items are not what you would typically see on a daily basis, which is probably why I am so attracted to them. They are unique and have personality to them, which is hard to find these days.

I love big earings. They can instantly make you look fabulous, so what’s not to love? Studs are good to wear on a daily basis, but if you are looking to spice your outfit up, you should always put a pair on before you go out at night. I found some beautiful John Hardy earings that aren’t too flashy, which would work both during the day and night. To me, that is a smart purchase!

I found an amazing Versace gown that is out of this world. First of all, I am obsessed with the color yellow. It is bright so it gets everyone’s attention and it makes you look tan, even if your not! I also love when dresses have low backs to them. It is incredibly sexy, and it makes you feel like a million bucks. I want and need this gown.

Real Or Fake?

My boyfriend’s mom Linda sent me a link to this website which was awesome. At first I was amazed at how incredibly low all of the prices were for all of the designer shoes and accessories. I didn’t understand how all of these top brands were so much cheaper on this site than any others. I probably wouldn’t have realized all of these “designer shoes” were fake if I didn’t read the FAQ’s. I don’t think I have ever seen such amazing knock offs before. Don’t get confused at what I am saying. I am not on any level encouraging you to purchase knock offs of designer wear. I just am trying to make a point that you can barely tell the difference between the real deal and the knock offs. It is really shocking to me. I myself, will admit that I am very much into labels. There is something about purchasing an expensive designer item that makes you feel great and powerful in some way. I think everyone should check out this website because I think you will be really amazed at the products they have. If I didn’t read the questions section on the site, I honestly wouldn’t have known these were fakes.

I found a pair of Jimmy Choo boots that are to die for! They have little ties on the side of them which makes them have a little more edge. However, they are very simple, and can go with anything! Why is it that every pair of shoes I lay my eyes on, I instantly feel like I need?! It has become such a problem!

The Sartorialist

My friend Libby got me The Sartorialist book by Scott Schuman for the holidays. Let me just say, that I am completely obsessed! I follow the blog on a daily basis, and get excited by seeing all of the different styles there are out in the world. As many of you know, I love collecting fashion books and adding them to my collection. This is my newest addition, and my coffee table has a spot all warmed up for it. I have looked through the book over a dozen times, and still haven’t gotten sick of it. I just love how looking at fashion never seems to get old. If you are the type that loves to snuggle up with a great book, make sure you get The Sartorialist, you will not only enjoy the company, but be inspired on so many different levels. Enjoy!

Inspiration of the day: “We tend to think that to achieve great personal style someone must have perfect clarity about who they are and what they stand for. I politely disagree. I think conflict about who you are often leads to even greater expression. That is why young people, or the young at heart, are those that inspire or move fashion forward.”- Scott Schuman

The Brooklyn Circus

I have mentioned before that my boyfriend Nico has slowly started becoming quite the fashionist-o. He always looks great in his outfits he puts together. I love seeing all of the little details he adds, like adding a pocket square to his jacket pocket, to spice up his look. One of his favorite stores, The Brooklyn Circus, has just gotten their online retail shop up and running! I am really excited by this because I know Nico will be doing a lot more shopping now, and he will be adding a lot more fabulous garments into his wardrobe. I think it is time that we get a bigger closet! Check out their website, if you are into very unique clothing with a vintage twist.
