Today is the first Sunday of the new month so what does that mean… Alameda Antique Show! I always look forward to having a full day out in the sun walking up aisles and aisles of endless amounts of old treasures. I of course had a list of things I wanted to try to find, and sadly, I didn’t end up getting too much. This wasn’t because I couldn’t find anything that made my heart race, because I most definitely did, everything just happened to be way out of my price range… shocker. I did end up getting some fun jewelry, scarves, and a beautiful picture (that still needs the perfect frame) of Marilyn Monroe. Loads of people, home-made kettle corn, and antique shopping is the definition of the perfect day. Even though we all got horribly sunburned and were stuck in typical Oakland traffic, it was well worth it!

A few months back I did a post on Quail, because I was obsessed with their bridesmaid’s dresses. I just found out that they did a new line for Urban Outfitters which is fabulous! These are the types of dresses that should be used for bridesmaids. They are fun, different, and not heinous looking. There are a few other pieces to the line that I can totally see myself wearing. This is a brand that I have become very fond of, and think a lot of you would agree. Check out the other pieces here.

My boyfriend Nico and I have been wanting to go to the Alameda antique show for some time now. It happens the first Sunday of every month, so we thought that we should get ourselves up early so we could finally make it. We went with a few of our friends, and we had a great time. I had no idea that it was such a big event. There were so many people, aisles of booths filled with goodies, and fabulous food! What was even better was that it was a gorgeous day outside. I didn’t end up buying anything, but there were endless amounts of things that I wanted. They had everything from vintage designer shoes and jewels to furniture and decor. We decided that we are going to make it a monthly tradition because we had so much fun. If any of you ever have a free Sunday happens to be the first sunday of the month, try to get yourself over there, you will be pleasantly surprised!

I have been in such a shopping mood lately. Well, I am actually always in a shopping mood. I really have to try to control myself from driving over to the mall because I just can’t help myself from buying things. I think whenever it comes to the point where the season is right about to change, I get all excited because I can finally do some serious shopping damage. Tonight as I was laying in bed I was looking at Nordstrom’s website, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are having some great sales on shoes. They have everything from sandals to pumps, and what’s even more appealing than the fabulous shoes are the fabulous prices (the shoes pictured below are all under $100). Seriously, don’t miss out!

Colette

Last summer I went with my boyfriend Nico to spend the summer in Europe with his mom (who lives in Amsterdam). What more can a girl want than to spend a full summer traveling around Europe? Linda, Nico’s mom, knew I had always wanted to go to Paris, so she arranged for the three of us to take a quick trip over to the beautiful city. One of the places that I felt I had to see was the store, Colette. Colette is known for having the best visually merchandised store… ever. Let me just tell you that it was unbelievable. I of course couldn’t afford anything, and felt that even looking at the items should cost something. I had a blast looking at all of their amazing pieces and displays. If you are a fashionista like me, and you happen to end up in Paris, make sure you check out this shop. Just as a friendly reminder, DONT take any photographs… the security guards will all be surrounding you in an instant even if you just pull a camera out. Yes, this happened to poor Linda and me. Colette does have an E-Commerce site, but it does not give it justice. You have to see the real deal.

I have decided that I want to start supporting independently owned business’s, and local designers more. Why go to a Nordstrom’s if you can find more unique things at a smaller boutique? After seeing local designer, Amy Fink’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection, I have really grown fond of her designs. These simple yet chic creations are the perfect garments to wear this Spring. They are classy looking and they get the point  across of being fabulous… what every gal wants, right? Can the sun come out any quicker?!

As most of you probably already know I am a shopping fanatic. I find that I am always at the mall even if I am just walking around. Because of this terrible habit I have to support, I have to find great garments and accessories at great deals. I found some fabulous finds at Moxsie, that you won’t want to miss out on! Happy savings!
