Last week I was assigned my third styling project. I of course have Michaela as my partner again, since we worked so well together last time. We are so excited to work with models for this shoot. Our teacher gave us no direction, which meant that we could come up with our own inspiration. I had emailed Michaela about possibly doing a modern-day Gypsy Rose Lee, since growing up I was completely obsessed with the movie Gypsy. If anyone doesn’t know who Gypsy is, she was one of the most well-known burlesque dancers of her time. Growing up she had nothing, and when she became an adult, she turned into such a glamorous star. Michaela loved the idea, and then thought that we should also incorporate the La Belle Epoque (Edwardian era) into it as well. Today we went shopping for our clothes, and got some fabulous pieces! Lets just say there is going to be a lot of lace and ruffles! Since we had to go out and purchase new clothes in order to fit our model, we decided to go to Nordstrom Rack. Honestly, they have some great things hidden beneath all of the tacky stuff. You do have to do some major digging, but if you have the time, and a good attitude, then you should head over to a Nordstrom Rack. You will be able to find some great things, for nearly half of what they originally cost. Anyways, check out some inspiration photos below for our project, hope you enjoy them!
